Donated Bibles

Donated Bibles We Received Donated Bibles for PrisonsDonated Bibles

We wanted to thank you all for the soft cover and paperback NIV (New International Version) donated bibles. Yesterday, we picked up close to 1000 bibles from our PO Box and as requested most of them were soft cover NIV. You guys rock!

Why Only Soft Cover

Many of the prisons we send to are medium to high incarceration facilities and hardcover bibles are not allowed. For this project, using soft cover only makes it easier on our 1 man shipping department (my back appreciates it).

This particular batch of NIV donated bibles is for a new project and will be going to a prison in Land O Lakes Florida. Our goal for Land O Lakes is 1,500 soft cover NIV bibles but we have a feeling that this may become another one of our on-going ministries.  So far we have shipped just under 400 to Land O Lakes.

Get Involved

In addition to the prison ministries we mentioned above we also sent your donated bibles to homeless shelters, women’s retreats, church outreach programs and other prison ministries.  Last month we also had over 5,000 single bible requests from people all over the world but we are far behind.  Our problem, we just don’t have enough good bibles for the amount of requests we get.  The most requested bible is large print NIV. You can buy new NIV soft cover bibles and ship them direct.

What Are Good Donated Bibles

Glad you asked. “Most” of the donated bibles we receive are usable. However, about 1/3 are not.

That’s a whole lot of useless effort.  It is a waste of time and resources on everybody’s part.  Yours for spending the time and money to send them. Ours for having to go to the PO Box, pick them up only to throw them in the garbage.  Sorry, but we do not have a special place or way to dispose of your unwanted bibles. Please don’t send them.

Donated Bibles – Rule Of Thumb

If you don’t want it, we probably don’t either. It is not called giving when you send someone your unwanted junk.  That is called “cleaning house”.  The bible clearly instructs us (Leviticus 22: 20-25) to give your best not your blemished offerings.  We are OK with “Gently” used bibles but not abused.
